This is my brothers ram from the EK in 2006, it was cheating as we had the BC permit but it was an amazing trip all the same.

A short walk to the west and he would have been in BC, last day ram
scores 174 and his bases were around 16"
Chances are this fellow spent some time in BC, feeding in the Elk Valley
4/5ths curl reg in Alta

The harvest is quiet low as most Rams are shot the first yr they are full curl. I saw 14 rams last yr within a 1/2 inch or so of legal. First yr buying a tag, was looking for a big mulie.Next yr...... The ones posted on here are very exceptional rams. When you look at the harvest stats some general units have 0 harvest.

Nice Ram!

Wow bighorns must be way harder to age than stones. I don't see any rings

bugler
02-17-2011, 10:02 PM
Rings are definitely harder to see, partly why there is no age rule here.

Very nice rams guys and congradulation for the harvest to everyone.

I’m a new sheep hunter and I got the buzz last summer. I’d like to make a sheep hunt every year. I think of sheep hunting everyday now and that will fuel it up more!

Not to hijack the thread but yes I do have plenty more pictures from all angles but have not moved them to photobucket and I'm away from my home computer for a few weeks. As far as this thread goes it is the smallest ram shown by far but as far as I know the biggest bow kill in BC. Despite being 7 years old it still is a bit thin and still lamb tipped. Funny enough, this legal side has a crack started. It is likely he would not have been legal next year.

PG, the only way to get one with your bow is to hunt with your bow. Most people won't because if they get a chance at a legal sheep they want to make sure they get him. You have to have an attitude that you don't care if he gets away. That's just bowhuntin', and it is worth the wait!!!
