I was hoping to add this to the "HBC Official Predator Thread" but it seems like no one has started one yet???
Finally had a chance to get out for a hike to burn some calories and conduct a little "dog patrol".
Couple hundred yrds from the truck I could hear some ravens making some good noise so I headed that direction and found this.

Not much left of the carcass but there were lots of dog tracks in the area so I hiked another couple hundred yrds and set up on a steep hillside in the trees above some nice terrain.
I grabbed my cow/calf elk call and wailed out a couple of series of fawn-in-distress calls. About 10 mins later I saw 3 yotes come in from my left. The only problem was that they were on the wrong side of a fence on private property.
I sat motionless but one was very intent on looking my way and another bedded down with a good vantage point.
I figured the best thing to do was to wait them out (I sure wished I had a decoy). After several minutes they milled about and then wandered slowly back from where they came.
After another few minutes I could hear some crunching and then 2 whities appeared directly below me. I thought this might be my lucky break.
Sure enough the trio of yotes could also hear them and made their way around the fence and I stopped the first one with some lip-squeaks. The mighty .270 roared and the other two bolted back into thick cover.
Immediately, I grabbed my howler and went crazy with some coyote-in-distress calls. After a couple of minutes I belted out a challenge howl.
Sure enough one of the yotes came back and was headed directly at me but was looking down below at his fallen comrad. As soon as hit the first opening he was down! I didn't get the triple but was happy with the double....although I was a little disappointed with the damage with one pelt:shock:.

Was a great Okanagan winter day!

I headed further south but wasn't able to put any more dogs to sleep although I did manage to call in what I "think" was a wolf. He came in silently and departed and I didn't know he was there until the tracks told me otherwise.
Now get out there and go for a hike on winter range!!
