Nice bear, good job! I have eaten meat from two bears that have been taken on hunts that I was on, both I thought were thoroughly disgusting and since the 2nd one have vowed never to buy a bear tag again.

I have since been informed by NitwiT and Bandit69 that I thought they tasted nasty because they were (being fall bears) both say that spring bear is the only bear to eat... soooo I think I've changed my mind, I will try for spring bear this year. Probably wont go over as smoothly with my girlfriend... I don't think she will eat it and she already complains about my birds taking up space in the freezer.

Taking a big bear or a little bear it really don't matter how big it is its what you like eating thats what counts the meat all looks the same when it is on your dinner plate  ,good for you on getting this black bear http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/images/icons/icon14.gif..

Fowlweather,

Good job !!! Nice to see some young guys taking up the sport. I had a conversation with a father and his daughter yesterday about hunting. She's only 11 years old, without any immediate family members who hunt, but would like to take up the sport. She loves all the hunting games and seems passionate about the sport. I showed them some pictures and hopefully this with be another youth supporting our great sport. Keep up the good work Fowlweather.

Spring bear is the only way to go. I still prefer to make sausage and pepperoni out of then though.

Good job on the bear. Keep at it and enjoy your hunting time. Get a journal and record your hunts. You will be glad you did.
