funny stuff, keep posting i love reading how all the people are against wolves. Part of our wildlife in British Columbia includes wolves, and when someone captures some awesome pictures of nature taking place they want to kill the predators. I sometimes have trouble looking at or watching these pics or videos but it is nature.
we have an open season on wolves here so why not prove to yourself how good of a shot you are and take an opportunity to control your adversary so you can have someone else to blame for not getting an animal.
we all gotta eat, like it or lump it.

Mother Nature at it's finest, she can be a bitch eh????

Life goes on.

Ddog, I agree with you, the circle of life is something that in NOT taught much in schools any more (not politically correct) and most folks have no idea what really goes on in the wild.

Sucks for that bull, but the wolves have to eat as well, plus we have no idea how emaciated or sick that bull was, could be he was on his death bed already.....

Fire away boys....:mrgreen::-D

Cheers

My wife is an animal lover and when I first showed her how animals die "naturally" years ago, all of a sudden hunting wasn't so cruel. Nothing like watching a pack tear your backside out while you slowly bleed to death.

Nature can be brutal, and harsh. Certainly no reason to hate wolves. They get their fair share of suffering to. No warm cozy cabin for them to crawl into after a tough day on the quad.;)

That can't be a real photo! Wolves only kill the sick and the weak and the diseased, right? :D
Smoke a pack a day! :P

You say confirmed kill.... That elk looks like it's still alive. Which explains why they are eating out the ass.

I would shoot a wolf if I wanted one. Not because it was killing an elk. That's nature. It's just a natural fact that no wild animal dies in an old folks home...they usually die by tooth and fang. Great pictures

I don't dislike wolves but when there are to many of them its up to us humans to control them lots of regions have to many of them and this is one reason I want to get into trapping so I can reduce a few.

A couple of my favorite species to hunt right there....... I'd shoot 3 of the smaller furry ones and the one big one with the points and make a dandy life sized mount in the den...........

would be a better pic if the bull was standing in the middle of a pack of dead wolves.

Nothing wrong with wolves trying to stay alive....but I'll shoot one if I can. I like elk....I'll shoot one of those too. Did Man throw throw the balance out of whack with various forms of game managment...perhaps. Complex! Could be another topic of discussion. Who's going first?:-D:-D

We humans, by our expanding population, have already unalterably changed "nature". I have nothing against wolves doing what they were designed to do. I do want that elk in my freezer, and know that predator numbers will expand until the prey numbers crash. Then the predators will starve, and we will also have no prey for ourselves.

Note to Antis: Your favored species of threatened prey animals will be killed off first by the four legged predators because threatened species numbers are smaller.

I find it funny how we project our human sense of ethics and morals onto natural processes which have been around long before we were here. There is nothing cruel or harsh about that picture, that is a totally natural occurrence.

However, I have nothing against thinning out predators to increase our chances at the same game :-).

This is a benchmark thread on wolves. I think we're all pretty much in agreement here. Pats on the back all around!http://i358.photobucket.com/albums/oo29/pigletmph/zadiffgrouphug.gif

I have 3 bait sites out now. Get out 4 times a week to check on things. This is my third year howling with wolves. They dont always come in but if they are around they will usually start howlilng back. I must say that being out there listening to them is pretty interesting. When they start to howl back after dark it gets tense. This is when they will come in closer. Hearing them running around in the bush gets a guy on edge. It is just about as much fun as calling elk.

Another Yellowstone park kill, that probably brings the population down to 4999, next week will be 4990.

After a hard fall of fightin' and phukin, then pawing through 2 ft of snow to get a couple nibbles of dead grass...that bull probably was the weakest!!

I am all for having wolves, and I am all for managing them too.

As for the picture, hope it gets around. More non-hunters realizing that Walt Disney is fiction is a good thing.
