If to much snow in the hi elevations then hunt the lower elevations you will find a few bears around.

I can't wait. What are people using as a set up this year? I am using 30-06 with a 165 gr superformance GMX, and a garbner rabbit distressed call. I hike around favorite bear spots and when i spot one i like call him in. Anybody out there already formulating plans?

You have to use both. You can't leave one at home while the other has all the fun. Guns are like children, if you spend time with them and clean them they'll stay on the straight and narrow.
