Anybody hunt this river? Any details would be helpful. Thinking of putting in for leh moose there. I have a boat.

What ever you do don't park on what looks like an old flood plain. A bunch of people learned the hard way last year and lost 5 or 6 vehicles.

Hunting areas are limited by boat. Much more geography/scenery/area that is accessible by truck/quad.
Upper stretches of river can be tricky, shallow, mud bottom, bush right down to the water's edge,.......you will find yourself very restricted in where you can get to and options available.

I live here and can't be bothered to boat it, if I want to be out that direction I take the truck/quad.

Basically just another river to jet-boat in to say you've done it. Hunt opportunities are better by land, especially for moose and large numbers of black bears. Lotsa Griz. if you're lucky enough to pull an LEH.
If you're determined to do it by boat, head up the McGregor and then up Jarvis Crk.......that's scenic........and exciting:eek:

The lower Mcgregor is quite easily navigable, know a few people who set up a camp by boat every year and they don't have fancy jet boats. The upper Mcgregor can be quite flashy in the fall and depending on the weather may be too low to navigate, especially with a moose in the boat! Few guys will head to the upper Mcgregor in the spring for grizzly. For the most part you can access a lot of the areas from truck, which the other guys stated.
