Nice pictures and good looking dog. Anything else you can add, story or any dialogue?

I'll fill in, John's been busy.

Last day of the season and we decided to hunt a home field. Been a weird season this year, it'd rain on Thurs. and Fri. and freeze on the weekend it seemed every weekend off, making for less than stellar conditions in some of our favorite spots.

This day was not too bad, except of course for all the birds showing up 10 minutes before legal light. We did however manage to lure in some singles and pairs, and most of all have a good time.

Russ, 12 likes to help set out the decoys, and is our "flush guy" if the birds land in a location across the field. Young legs...and youthful energy.

Rayne, the lab is great at spotting ducks way up, and has learned the difference between swans, crows, and waterfowl, but still doesn't understand goose closure when ducks are open. He made some super retrieves this year, and is getting good with divers.

It was a nice morning to finish off the season, came home with 8, mostly widgeon.

Good summary Tanya!
Isn't it great having a flush guy?
Saves on the wear and tear of old joints!

Glad you got out to close the season, I have yet to do that. Never missed the opener. My two dogs that I've had were the same, always saw ducks before I did half time and God help me if I missed, that look I got.:)
