That area has a pretty steady population of bears.

The population estimate for 4-38 is 179 bears (AAH = 9.5) and 117 for 4-39 (AAH = 5.6) according to the 2010 MOE allocation spreadsheets.

Plenty of Grizzly and Black Bear in this area. I lived and hunted up there for 13 years and not one hunting trip passed without seeing or encountering bears of both species. Keep your senses on alert in here because it's classified as rain forest for a reason. Bush is real thick and bears thrive in here. Mosquitos as big as eagles too!!!

Lots of bears, typically nothing big, but it's fun and nice country when the sun's out.

I've seen a ton of blacks and poops that look like they came from a dinosaur but no grizz sightings for me yet

Hell, my old chev and a grizz got into an argument one may long weekend night when pulling into camp just past Mica dam. Not sure which one came out on top, but I do know that both wore the scars as reminder of the epic battle.
As for the grizz hunting at Mica, the best way I have found to hunt them is to load the dirtbikes in the boat on Kinbasket and go across the lake to the roads/areas rarely hunted due to inaccessability.
