I was able to skip out of school today to hit our favourite duck hunting fields one last time with my dad. Unfortunately, my sister (13) had a test so she couldn't come.
We hit the fields a little late and missed out on the early easy flocks, as we didnt set-up until 7:45 am. The weather was wet and the ducks were everywhere!! We had our 16 ducks (9 mallards, 7 widgeon) by 2:00 pm. The goal was to shoot all drakes, but a few hens came down in the crossfire. Ended up with 14 drakes and 2 hens. Did some target practice after we wrapped-up.
Can't wait until goose season!! Hope everyone had a successful season, we sure did! Lots of fun, laughs, empty shells, duck meat, and memories that will last a lifetime.
