I shot a bear in Oct 2010 for the meat and decided to take the hide because he had a really thick black coat with no marks. At this time I already sent my May bear which is also beautiful hide and got it back in December. Now I have the Oct bear hide still in the freezer and don't know what to do with it.The wife says no more black bear rug, but okay with a brown bear.I don't know what to do with my other hide.I'm willing to donate to someone if that's allowed, or is there any fur traders could use it.I hate to see it sitting in the freezer

Ask your taxidermy that you deal with if he wants it or maybe one of you non hunting friends would want to take it off your hands..

Most taxidermists will buy 6 foot or bigger raw black bear hides for $80

If someone makes a decent offer then they can have it.Not asking to make a living off it just rather see some use it.

might be able to trade it to a taxidermist for some store credit.

Where are you at? The fur trader I use will usually buy them. She payed me 80 for my 6 foot 4 bear last spring but it did have a pretty bad rub on one leg. http://www.a1furtraders.com. She is in vernon.
