Hoping to get my first rifle in a few weeks. As soon as the paperwork is done for my pal. Now to the question was thinking of getting a 30 06, was just wondering if a Bushnell 3200 elite would be a good set up for that calibre? Any other scopes i should consider?

The 3200 is a good scope and you'd most likely be happy with one, but sometimes the Bushnell stuff is hit or miss, and the warranty is slow and painful.

For that price range, a Leupold VX-I or a Redfield Revolution would be a better choice. Tough and reliable with good glass, and the warranty is awesome.

3200 will work just fine. Have one mounted on my .300 win mag. Hasn't lost it's zero... Oh yeah get ready for Bushnell haters. If you want a bushnell get it. Leupold, Weaver, Zeiss, Nikon and all those other brands have great stuff as well.

Its a good scope when it works. I would personally get a leupold or a redfield.

I'd get a Redfield Revolution 3-9x40 with the Accurange reticle, better scope than a 3200 Elite for the same $

If you're on a bit of a budget check out Vortex scopes. Warranty is right alongside of the best in the business.

Our sponsor - Grouse River Outfitter's sells them and are good people to deal with.

Leupold. get the best you can afford...for that matter get one you can't afford. "Quality lives on; price is soon forgotten."

The 3200 is a good scope and the rainguard can be really good to have when it starts showering! Never had an issue with mine...

I have a 3200 on my 308 and havent had a single problem in 2 years,
my dad has a leopold thats about the same but twice the price and it is nicer but i dont think the bang for your buck was a good as the bushnell if you are on a budget,

my advice is get the best you can comfortably afford, and go to a store and check out some or try out some other peoples guns if that is an option and find what you personally prefer best.

A scope is only as good as the backup service it has. If you don't mind waiting all through the hunting season to get your Bushnell back from the factory where you sent it for warranty work, gor for it. It you'd like to get ita back whithin a couple of weeks, go for a Leupold. Pricewise, you're in the same ballpark but quality and back up service is much better with Leupolds.

Keep in mind when you sell the rifle you will probably want to keep the scope, price accordingly. I like the Leupolds better but that's just my bias.

Of that price range, I've had a 3200 3-10 x 40 as well as a Burris Fullfield II 3-9x40.

The Bushnell worked perfectly fine, didn't fog up, adequate clarity, didn't move on a .338wm, etc...but I preferred and kept the Burris.

I'd recommend having a look-see at it at the shop too, if you're set on that price range!

Whatever you buy, make sure to enjoy it...anything mentioned here by anyone would serve you great, and you can always upgrade!

Different strokes for different folks. I have the 3200 on my 300wm and my 444 and no issues so far. Touch wood lol.
