This is NOT good news! A true disappointment. Maybe he would be willing to sell the store? Fred

Hey Fred, it is kind of wierd, I went to the store during the day, the sign is taken down, and it looks like the filing drawer of all the maps is gone- the rest of the bookshelves are still there, and so are the books,

I asked the lady at the store next to Nixons, and she shrugged and told me he was closed, but showed up sometimes?

Have you tried phoning and leaving a message. Then too seeing as how the owner was deaf he may not have been able to make the store pay for itself. Someone with a bit of grit probably could. Fred

There is a place in New west called 'Around the world maps' that carry all the topo maps .He doesent stock 1:100,000 but can order them in. Located across the street and down a bit from Army and Navy.

I have this hanging on my wall. It is the topographic map index for BC and Alberta. You just find the area you are interested in and it tells you what map you need.

International Travel Maps & Books.

530 W. Broadway Vancouver BC Canada V5Z 1E9 (604) 879 3621

These folks cater to the hiking crwd a lot and have all the topos you could want for all of B.C.

At least they've always had anything I've been looking for.
