It's not too long now until I can get my PAL and I would like to get it right away when I turn 18 and I'm wondering what the difference is between a Restriced firearms license and a Prohibited firearms license. I'd like to be able to own as much of a variety in guns as possible. I don't really know what I'm gonna buy for guns in the future but I'd like to keep options open as well.

And also, is it still required to register firearms?

Thanks for any help!

Seek, and ye shall find.

etc etc

PAL is non-restricted. RPAL is restricted. Definition of which is which in the links above.

Restricted are things like ar 15 and hand guns while prohib is stuff like full autos and really short handguns. You have to inherit a prohib to get the class of license you need to own it. Cause trust me if u could have a full auto I would. Correct me if I'm wrong

If you don't have a prohib license you wont get one now, the exception being that you can inherit prohib handguns made before the end of WW2, and only from a direct relative. Everything else you are s.o.l.
