Does anyone know where a guy could find one of these? There must be a dealer in the lower mainland. This winch is an idea for use with my jetboat. Anybody use these for that purpose. My boat is fairly heavy, its a firefish hammerhead. thanks.

steveston marine, nikka marine, any marine shop can get you one.... give Kieth at 604-793-2686 for custom fab installs or Jamie at 604-819-2016 they should help you mock it up... or I can wire it in for you....

I was wanting a gas powered one. Maybe the chainsaw conversion. this would cut down on weight, having the combo.

The Lewis chainsaw winch will run $900 for the winch and can easily pull a boat off a beach as well as other things- like moose.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to look at in langley. Maybe get new saw too. Maybe going to look in the states, might be cheaper.

Check out www.baileysonline.com (http://www.baileysonline.com). I have a friend that has both the Lewis and the Capstan and he said the Capstan is hands down the better of the two. I have a Lewis and wouldn't trade it for anything when it comes to hauling a moose outta the bush but I've never tried the Capstan so I don't know any better. K

I have this one........model CS-CW. Takes about 5 min to convert from chainsaw to winch with no other tools req'd. than the saw wrench. 1000ft. of rope, divided into 4 spools.
An electric winch on the front of the boat is great if all you want to do is pull anchors or, pull the boat straight ahead, but you still need elec. power to run it.
Portable winch allows you to winch a boat from any side, in any direction, not to mention the benefits of being able to winch game, wood, etc. when away from the boat. Chain saw goes on the trip anyway, adding the winch with very little extra weight is no big deal.
