Hey everyone,

Looking for good spots to Launch a boat on the Dease River for moose. The two I have heard of are McDame and French Creek. Can anyone comment on these two sites, or suggest others (along with any details on them if you have any)?

Thanks much

PM if you like

depends on how early in the fall, where are you going to camp, or are you leaving a trailer somewhere and taking fuel and camp up etc.

the most foolproof is probably the dease crossing campground 20-30 km north of the lake

Will be bringing camp in on the boat, so leaving a truck and trailer somewhere unattended... Probably go earlier in the fall than later most likely.

then i definitely suggest the campground, pay them to park your truck/trailer. I forget what they were charging but it wasn't much.

if you go to french ck , bring chains, the launch is steep. easy to put in but a bugger getting out. 2x dease crossing.

X2 what rgv said. There is a campground a little way past the lake IIRC there was a good launch there.

I don't recall a launch at McDame and your vehicle would be left alone...
