Does anyone know or have you seen any new shed antlers in the Okanagan area in January?

last year found lots of sheds, all whiteys, but no mule sheds. which is weird because in the areas we find them we see lots of mule deer, big ones to, but hardly any whiteys.

Last March, in 11 inches of snow, I found two white tail antlers 4 point and a 3 point high in the mountains.

There seems to be a lot of interest in shed hunting among hbc members. Is it just for fun, or do you do something with them?

Only reason I would do it is a) to see what's been kicking around ie//just HOW BIG was that monster I only got a glimpse of b) rattling antlers cuz the ones that are still together came from the years kills c)Garden Ornaments anyone? d) several antlers, a light bulb and some wire and you got yerself a lamp e) I hate squirrells and refuse to let them have something to chew on f) I like nature and sheds are a pretty neat part of that g) helping to predict what may be headed/around the area I found them in as a partial scouting expedition for next years hunt.

Other than that ...:confused::?

Can you post these sheds up so we can see them ,I think that when snow is not deep that the deer will stay hi up.

March is not to early for deer to start shedding I know I will spend lots of time shed hunting this late April and May I just like doing shed hunting..

It puts me a mind when I was a little kid in a grocery store buying candy when I find a shed ,its also good exercise :-D :wink:..

Shed hunting is like easter egg hunting, but for adults! :-D

No offense to the younger crowd on here who shed hunt, but us grown ups gotta enjoy something.
