Finally got to the range in Pemby and sighted in my new Ruger. Picked up some winter camo from Spud Valley and tomorrow is the start of my coyote hunting experience. I have scouted an area close by and there are lots of doggie tracks and tons of rabbit prints so I am feeling pretty good about my chances. Saw some big tracks which have to belong to a wolf so I have my fingers crossed. Have a few different calls I will try and see what comes in, if anything. I'm a little nervous after seeing some of the wolf pics in the trapping thread so I will keep my eyes open wide out there. Ill throw some pics up if I have any success.

This wolf was shot in Alberta. The farmer said they were losing 2-3 cows a week. No wonder they get so big!

Nice timber wolf reminds me of the time back in Mayerthrope AB. I was in a treestand/fort over looking a spring, coming down I almost jump on top of a wolf that big that was passing by at the same time i hit the ground. We both looked at each other like wtf is that he f*&^%#$ off quick. haha will never forget that.

Your camo looks like something that a big old Yeti caughed up as a fur ball:-D:-D

I have been using my regular fall camo this year so far and have had good successs, it is a matter of picking the right background surroundings to hide in.....I find this camo, I hide in small bushes and the underhang of the highwater mark on the river back,,,,,Whereas If I am trying to hunt wide open skow covered fields with little cover, the white camo does help....

I went down to the fabris store and bought a pattern of maertial that has large black and hhite patters, TodBartell calls it cow camo, and made a slip over the rifle sock, help on with velcro that really seems to help when you hunt wide open snow country....

I have used the 75 grain V-Max at some prtty fast speeds and it knocks them down DRT, most of the time////

There aree a tonne of Youtube stuff on the computerr to read and learn from:

Some of my favorites are Predator University, Bucking the odds, and Predator quest with the Les Johnson......as well as tonnes of others by primos,,etc.....

Goof luck and post your success oy your hunts, it is hgihly addicitve..

Yea its a little commando for sure. Need to work out a few bugs in the system. The strands hang down in my face which was driving me crazy. Been bald for a few years so not used to stuff hanging in my face, not sure how you longhairs put up with it. Camo won`t work if I`m swatting at my face all the time attracting attention. Need to work on my calling as well. Made a few calls that sounded more like a rooster than coyote!
No success today but tough conditions. Snow was frozen and crunchy as hell so made a lot of noise getting into the hotspot. Footprints in a lot if my area. People looking for Xmas trees I think. Saw lots of deer and rabbit tracks again but not much else. Set up a dead deer decoy in a big clearing and called for two hours but saw nothing. A crow was going crazy at something up hill behind me for 10 mins but never saw what it was.
Thanks for the tips Rocksteady, easy to take advice from a guy thats culling the varmint population on a regular basis. Any other tips are always appreciated. Off work as of Tuesday for a week so going to spend a lot of time in the bush. Mom will have to wait till next Christmas for her coyote stole. Here`s a couple of pics of what I was up to and next update when I have some dogs down.
