Was wondering if anyone jetboats up the chilcotin from the fraser? Also is the frenchbar rapids doable, south of the gangranch bridge? i have a firefish hammerhead 18.5 ft. Was up on the fraser in the end of october, beautiful area.

french bar rapids are boatable but even in my 22ft you have to pick & choose the spots to go through but remember the throttle is your friend

I have stared at the chilcotin mouth and said no way! Very boney and intimidating to say the least!
maybe with the right boat at the right water level doable....but really how bad do you need a deer????

The same for frenchbar rapids! I met a guy that did it, he came up stream from lilloet and had a 21' full teflon with twin sport jets!
Going up is way easier than going down, and when your on the top side of frenchbar lookng down, there is no obvious path!
I parked and hiked above it to scout it out....looks doable from above, Ill see if I have pics???

Heres a pic of frenchbar from above....certainly looks doable from here, but the water moves very quick through there and is little room for error!

No real point either as the ferry is just around the corner so you can pretty well drive to much of the land beyond there!

My main hunting partner has done it. Google Whistler Jet Boating and on his site is an article about the trip.
