Last day with my Bow,its been a good year!

Fortunatly my son and I had today off being the last day for mule with a bow.I went out last sunday in the -11 c weather and saw dick but froze it off almost.Today was much warmer and the muleys were moving about abd still rutting.My #1 son spotted this big guy and we had no chance at first but came back an hour later and I spotted him with a doe.#1 son was still on the quad I yelled at him to grab the quiver and follow me.After some sneaking up I got to within 50yds and was laying down to see him thru the brush.First arrow I was low and hit some brush.As luck would have it the doe booked and the buck stayed put.My son said dad your low so I put the lowest line on the top of his back and fired.I was very lucky this time as it was a thru and thru the jugular,he bled out very quickly and maybe went 150yds down hill.Best part as we were able to get the quad right down too him.Its been a great season for my boys and I 3 WT and this mule.Next year I have to purchase another bow for my son

Thanks for the positve comments it was a 51yd shot I paced it off after.Yeah a crossbow helps but its still nothing like my rifle.It took me 5 years to get my first buck last year with that old titan 10 point.I lost 2 arrows today hopefully I will find then when the snow is gone

You don't get a buck any better then the one you put down this is a very nice mule deer to get with your bow ,congrats to you and your son.

What kind of cross bow do you have in the picture and how many FPS is your bow ???.

I actually have a bigger buck on the wall,so my wife will not let me mount him.Yes my son and I are very happy to get him with the xbow as its alot harder than most people think.You have to be a good judge of distance and compensate.My bow is a older Titan 10 point with a horton scope shooting 100g thunderhead broadheads.I think its only 285fps,but I can cock it my hand with no aids so its quick recovery if U miss.Its certainly not the latest technology but still very effective
