There was also an error in your link. There wasn't supposed to be an "e". I took it off.

Nice picture, mate! Wow!

No, just a buddys girlfriend who came along for the hunt. It was shot by another buddy with a bow.

Good cat for sure. The picture is only 1/2 of it . What is the story????

We had been hunting for a few days trying to find a decent tom to chase so my buddy could arrow it and get it mounted. We were starting to get frustrated with all the wolves we were encountering in basically every major drainage we were hunting. I found the track one morning while it was snowing pretty hard. I walked the track out to some nearby trees to inspect it further to get an idea roughly on the size of the cat based on it's track. I have seen alot bigger tracks than this one but still knew it was a nice tom none the less. To make a long story short (because the chase was not that long and uneventful) we ended up treeing this cat. On first sight of the cat and where he was located at the top of a bushy fir tree, I thought he was still a nice cat around 140 lbs. However, waiting for the rest of the crew to show up the cat decided to vacate his lofty perch and go for another run. By this time one of my buddies had made it to the tree and got to watch the cougar come out as well. Watching this cat climb down the tree and bailing out made both our eyes bulge out of our heads. My friend laughed at me and said "you definitely undersized that cat!" I already knew that well before my friend even spoke those words. When that cat climbed out of that bushy tree he definitely grew alot bigger. Needless to say, the dogs quickly treed the cat again and this time he wasn't getting away. We tied the dogs up and my other buddy released a perfect arrow into his chest quickly harvesting this awesome animal. When we got the cougar home we threw him on the scale and he weighed 179 lbs. We gutted him and found that he had an empty stomach but had been eating well due to all the nice fat inside of him. With the whitetails plentiful around cranbrook he definitely wasn't starving or going to starve over the winter. We caped him out and he green scored 14 14/16. That was the other surprise to me. I knew he wasn't the biggest skulled cat we have taken but I thought he would go in the low 15's possibly making the book. We have shot 150-160lb toms that made the book quite easily but nonetheless still an awesome animal and an awesome trophy.

Thanks for posting the pic and for the story. Most will never get a crack at a lion like that.

How many dogs do you run mike, and what are their lines?

X2 on spokeriders comment. Thats a beautiful animal, if you get the chance would be cool to see the finished product. What kind of mount are you doing? :-D
