Well here's how my day went, my bro-inlaw and I started at first light driving into a spot where he had seen some whopper whities.Right away in the lights we saw a doe a dink 2pt. So we carry on our way to an old cut block just to find about a foot of snow and tonnes of fresh tracks. This was looking very promising, but do think we could find a deer....nope. The snow was coming down pretty hard and I believe those tracks were from early mornig in the dark. After figuring they were bedded down for the morning , we decided to go back home to smoke some fish while the wives were doing the canning. Well after all the work was done we decided to go for one last minute quad ride just for fun, we only brought one rifle. It was about 4:30 pm and it was getting dark fast. We were riding in some old timber just playing around in the snow,all of a sudden my bro-inlaw spotted a doe...and then a BUCK! Thats a HAWG for the EK. Well done. Goes to show that you can't shoot 'em from the couch, so even if you just go play in the snow with your quad you've got a chance at a nice buck.

Yes I wish I did, but I also didn't expect to see a buck of this quality:). Bow season was right around the corner and I've been waiting to take a big whitie with the bow. Ohh well there is always next year.
