Well We were back up in Fort St. John again this year. There wasn't much snow.
One of the days it went down to -28 with a wind chill factor of -41. It seemed like the big bucks were few & far between. We had a few opportunities to harvest some nice bucks but it never seemed to come together. After hunting hard for six days I was finally onto a good buck. He was making his way down into a draw about 220 yards below me. I had to move across an open bluff to get a clear shot. As I was moving to my left the buck saw me & took off up hill across an open knoll. He stopped at 300 yards & turned his head to look back at me. I had to make a quick decision to shoot or not. I could tell he was a decent buck so I decided to shoot. At the angle he was standing, the bullet entered just under his spine near his hind quarter & into the lung cavity. He slowly tried to make it up the knoll & I gave him another one to seal the deal. I was shooting a Tika T3 25-06 with 120 g. nosler partition , 57 g of IMR 4350.http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee231/lynx2lynx/DSC04890.jpghttp://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee231/lynx2lynx/DSC04881.jpg
