Frosty WT

Well the day started slow wife thought it was to cold to hunt so did not wake me up when she got up for work. As a result I did not leave the house till 9am. 10am found we working some open timber when a doe ran past chased by the smallest spike I have ever seen. Decided to hunt her back trail and 10 minutes later I spot a buck working his way through the trees 200 yards to my front. I took a quick knee and waited till he passsed through an opening in the trees. A quick shot and he was running showing signs of a hit. I tried to sneak a second shot in as I was unsure of how hard he was hit. Found him 5 min later dead as a door nail two shots through the chest.
A quick gut job than a km drag to the road had me sweating like a pig in -17. This is the 12th buck of this size I have seen this year just coudn't find the pig I was after and with only a few days left I had to drop the hammer. He has a 4x4 frame with an extra kicker on one side. Well thats the end of my season but luckly Fernie opens for skiing on Saturday.

Lets say he made this guy look like a spike but I only saw him before the season. Was looking for a second one that I saw quickly early in the season but didn't have a shot.

Do you have the dogs hiking around with you too? I've seen tracks of someone hiking with dogs in the area I have been going to lately. I miss my trusty old hunting buddy.

Sometimes one the odd time both, today they were only in on the recovery. When we backpack hunt they come with us and carry saddlebags.

Good Job Everett! Thats a beauty buck for the Kootenays! They are sure running these days... Foreheads All covered in snow... If I can only tag one before tuesday, I'll be skiing too...

Great buck man, snuck it in before the end of the season, way ta go. Can't get enough of the pics of your beaut dogs. Great to see them enjoying the snow and the end of the season accomplishment.

I figure he is pretty young as well good teeth not an ounce of fat on him though which is a bad sign in my opinion.

I took a close as I could look at your female on the pic and wow they sure do look alot alike, same patch different side. Can't imagine what the sissy looks like. What do your dogs weigh. Your female looks like Billie but I'm sure yours has some size on mine.
