Cranker 8x8 Whitetail!!!!

This kind of buck is the reason Whitetail hunters hunt Whitetail. It's the kind of buck every hunter dreams of. I wish I could say that this is my buck.....but alas, it belongs to a family friend. He got it Saturday afternoon, November 20th. This lucky kid is a grade 12 student. His uncle rattled it in for him.

I have not seen it in person yet, but judging from the pics, the only thing this buck is missing is some mass for it's size. It has height, width, length, stickers, split brows, and a droptine. No official measurment yet, but they figure it will go 200" B&C points.

All I can say it is a region 8 buck.

WOW!! I thought, yeah its a big one and its got some cool junk hanging off of it, but when you get to the picture of the entire deer with the 2 trucks in the background you really see it's a monster. I wish I had an Uncle like that!!

I haven't seen it in person yet and probably won't till next weekend, but I did have a chance to talk to the lucky young fellow this evening.

Apparently he had shot at this buck a week ago at some private non-pressure property, but he was sooo nervous he made a complete miss. So this weekend he set up in the same area and hoped any buck would come along. He saw two does run by, and to his surprise, this same big guy is chasing them, but he was out of range. His uncle was hunting just a little higher up so he called him and told him to bring his rattling antlers and see if they can call him in closer.

Well that did the job, the buck came to within 50 yards and offered up a good shot opportunity that the young man took. The rest is history. They figure this is about a 4 or 5 year old buck as his body was smaller than expected for his antler size and his bases should be thicker too.

He hasn't green scored him yet but I told him where to look on the internet to figure out how to score him. He says he is getting a shoulder mount done. I think the taxi he is using is a private guy so I doubt the info will get around.

I was figuring it was from the lumby area when it was said it was taken on private property.
