Well made it back to PG in one piece! Never wrecked any rigging, and 3 hunters cancelled 3 tags. All deer were the hunters biggest to date, and was my first ever whitetail. I have to say hunting deer in the Peace is an experience all to it's own. The deer up there are so large bodied, and so plentyful, but it hardly a gimme for the hunter!! So here it is, my first whitetail, and a pretty good one I think. He has some really good bases, and is a typical 5x4. He has a small little non typical bump on the 4 side, but not too bad tine length. The bases are covered in resin from rubbing, and he had the woods surrounding were I shot him pretty rubbed up.

I shot him at about 70-80 yrds, and he bolted about 5 jumps and skidded on his face for about 20 feet. Was a head on shot through the heart with a handloaded 168gr TTSX from my 300 win mag. I was pretty happy when I did see him come out of the woods, and even happier to see him face plant after I shot him!

Nice whitetail, congrats on your first. If you think there's lots of deer around now, you shoulda been here a couple years ago before the big die off. It was normal to see 100 or so muleys in the fields on the 20 min drive to town but now it's a good day if you see 20 :(

There was no shortage of deer seen. Elk and moose too! My 2 hunting partners bagged nice mulie bucks, like I said both of theirs were the bigest they have shot as well. It was a very fun trip, worth the time, and I will do it again for sure!! Moosin
