you might want to get rid of the porcupine pic as it's illegal to kill them in the Yukon you dumb ass. otherwise everything is cool.

Hounddogger, yeah I actaully trailed horses in with Rod this season. Funny guy.

325 wsm, I found that porcupine dead on the trail, so nothin' illigal about it

Ahh the north country... it doesn't get any better. Sweet pictures. I like the hole in the horn, bet that made for some excitement. I'm always surprised at how little damage a bullet will do to a horn, just seems to pin-hole thru most of the time.

I don't think that is right, porcupines are small game. At least it used to be that way.

You should have a read of the regs there 325! Page 31 of the Yukon regs. Porcupine are open year round with no annual limit throughout the Yukon with the exception of one zone and one sub-zone.

Ok I was wrong...don't hunt small game and don't really keep up on those reg's on small game but it must be a fairly recent change as they used to be protected from hunting....I was wrong....sorry for the dumb ass coment Alpine Addict.

notice that you used a double diamond in the pic with the pack horse and ram. do you guys use the double all the time?

That's one hell of a moose! Nice to see!

Alpine Addict
11-19-2010, 12:39 PM
Bridger, most guys up there like to tie the single diamond, but I was taught the double this year as well. I like tieing the double sometimes because it keeps your boxes from flappin' around and slapping your pony in the ribs. We had a few wrecks with some skittish horses because of that, so anytime we packed a rodeo bronc I liked to tie the double. That being said I think the single is still better if you have a top pack. What do you usually tie?

Great pictures this season AA, that area is awesome late fall, so much color. Great moose.
Even recognize some of the older horses still. Who was in your string this year?

Alpine Addict
11-19-2010, 01:27 PM
I was at 2 different camps this year. My first string was Lorretta, ootpick, Snake, Blue, Mucher, Red, Willie, Hitch. ( I think Hitch and Willie are older)

And the black lake string was, Ruby, Glass eye, Stanly, Duke, Gang Ranch, Pilot, Bulldozer, and Ford.
