Great pic's, thanks for sharing. In that first pic, he wouldn't happen to be standing over a scrape, would he? Kinda looks to me that he is pi**ing and letting his urine run down over his tarsel glands.

Great photos there. Thanks for posting. Looks like the mule deer rut is in full swing. I had a decent buck walk in front of my truck while driving out in the dark on Monday after an unsuccessful last ditch attempt at a spike fork moose. This guy had his nose to the ground, following a hot set of doe tracks. He didn't hesitate for a second as I rolled up to within 30 yards of him. On November 12, a buddy of mine watched one of the biggest bucks he has ever seen. This 5x5 was with a lone doe and stood in a clearing for 10 minutes. Unfortunately, he didn't have his camera.

nice pics, What a chance to be able to witness the rut in action. Did you take some of those photos through a spotting scope?

It was pretty neat to watch. The close up photos were taken through one side of my binocs. At one point, the group of them walked to within 15 yards. Got some shakey video of that. He didn't care about me much, only moving when the does did. Here's the grand finale so to speak:
