Try to be in early in the morning (a good 15minutes before daylight... visible daylight) on later in the afternoon before dusk. You may have also found a spot that the deer have come into rut and moved out of after the rut.

Keep the spot to yourself and keep hunting it. Once you figure it out you'll be golden.

Get in before daylight, or a few hours before dark, hunt near those rubs, find some shooting lanes, rattle and grunt to bring in the challenger. Watch out because they can really sneak up on you. Be well hidden, the rut is on big time so .... get er done .....

Early for sure is best. With the rut full on the bucks should be at it all day though. Did you have the wind? That is the first step to any deer hunting. Always hunt a ridge with the wind in your face, or at least a cross wind. . If you dont watch the wind you will never ever see a deer. Glass lots, move slow. Deer here constant footsteps and know humans walk like that.

my experience with heavy snow falls (at least here in the loops) is they will hit the roads and big cuts to eat......... seen one of the bigger boys right in the middle of the dam road in a 4"/hour dump.......30' to stop so no go on getting him

Check out this month's Western Sportsman, has a whole bunch of info for hunting Muley's right now!!

Haven't read through the issue yet, but they always have great information.

first hr of light be at your spot, control your scent ,have a blind of some kind set up with good shooting lanes all around and rattle, and doe bleat intermittenly.Use patients, you know that theyre there, you have fresh sign,And the bucks are rutting and moving.WAtch carefully as they have an uncanny way of of sneaking in on you when your calling.Usually they will try to circle down wind of the call to approach but not always especially when their rut crazy

There's ALWAYS wind. Your stink will be going somewhere and you should really put in effort in knowing where it goes.

I'd go back..... If it's snowing, it'll be EASY to cut hot tracks.
