Hardwoods Blacktail

I managed to bring this guy back to a doe he was on after I spooked him off in a patch of hardwoods that I know holds deer. I stuck with her figuring he'd come back if she was a go'er and you bet he did. It was a painfully slow game of patience and persistence that seemed to take forever but I eventually rattled and can called and he came back almost right after. A clean shot bang flopped him from ~100yrds in standing timber. Hes a nice heavy 3x3 with +2" brows and 19" MB's, not a booker but still not bad for a BT. Im pretty happy with the way it all went, it was quite enjoyable to pull off.

PG66's tips came into play big time!! All I could do was review his thread over and over in my head as I worked the doe hoping he would return. Thanks PG66, drinks are on me if we ever cross paths.

He's a mainlander. Now Im on the quest to find an Islander as big or bigger. Got next week off work so hopefully something comes together.
