Lakes Freezing [Archive]

Hey guys,
I'm wondering if there are any higher elevation lakes around Kamloops (fishable ones) that have froze yet? Only lake I've been around lately is sydney lake up past lac de bois grass lands at 31km.

Forecast calls for -10 in Kamloops on Sunday. I'm hoping some bigger lakes (maybe Red Lake or even some of the smaller ones around Roche) will freeze and start racking on a few inches so we can get out there!

I was @ Red Lake this weekend, no ice but tons of hunters in the area.
sitting at camp we watched 6 vehicles roll by in less than 2 hours..

yup, they're freezing up! it was -13c when we arrived in camp Wednesday night. We were East of Logan Lake.

Hammer Lake (3-30) is frozen. It held my weight last weekend but not for long. It is about 3300 feet I think.

ponds around Jamison Creek area are also all frozen....tons of hunters as well!!

Inskip up lac de bois road is frozen over, Never fished it in winter, but have pulled some nice fish out of there in the summer...

Just yesterday in the Kane Valley, Shea lake was open and had "white caps" but Thalia was frozen solid with 6" of snow on it??

Drove the 5a sat when the coq. was closed I bet roche area will be starting to freeze up now.

Saturday morning friend woke to Red Frozen, careful hasnt been checked for thickness

Okanagan lake still open - but if this "mother of all winters" continues, you just never know! Ha Ha. It was -22 just up the hill from Kelowna last night. It won't be long until all of the smaller lakes are frozen.

My buddy called me from a lake near the ranch today and was Ice fishing with 6 inches of ice. Tomorrow we head out to Helena Lake as the Ice is ready there as well.

Coyotes will be on the run too.

edith lk is frozen.:) drilled a hole100ft from the shore was around 6inches. Ice fishing time !!
