Well my partner and i couldn't hold out any longer. Not the monsters we were originally looking for but thats why they give us two tags right!? At least thats what i'm going with. Spotted this guy at 600 yards or so while glassing off a bluff. Had a good idea as to where he was probably going so we made our way down to the general area. Sure enough shortly after getting there, he showed up. Had the close the distance to make an effective shot, and thought i was busted once, but luckily not. Put him down at 60yrds while he was tearing apart a small tree. Not sure the story with him as i think hes pretty old but the rack size sure doesn't show it. Walked with a limp, lots of missing teeth, hoofs beat to shit, old grey face and BIG bodied.

The next day, worked one of our "rut holes" calling with the can with no succeess. TONNES of fresh sign so we were still quite motivated. Worked our way out of the hole calling as we went, back up to the deactivated road where we had parked the quad earlier in the a.m. Planned to go work another area with TONNES of sign. 30 seconds on the quad, just passing where we had just finished calling and 75 yards standing in the middle of the deactivated road was this guy. Not sure if the calling pulled him out of the timber or it was just luck, but either way he was on the way home with us.
A huge thanks to Proguide for his thread, and all the guys posting their knowledge and info. For us guys who are learning this game from scratch, you have helped us more than you know! Will definately still be working for the real big guys in our area, the cams are still out working too.
