Hey guys. Im brand new to the bow game. Im trying to get set up but dont want to spend thousands. Looking for some advice from the pros. Does this look like a reasonable piece of kit (and price) for a newbie.

"Pse thunderbolt great cond.Great bow for hunting, comes with everything, hard green case, Spider quiver, cobra 4 sight, stabilizer, lots of arrows, broad heads and pratice heads, foam target, extra string tools for bow, string wax and arm guard, cobra trigger" $700

Any advice would be great. Thx

Not too familiar with PSE's. How old is the bow? Have you seen it and/or handled it? Shot it? Does it fit you right? Is it your draw length? If not, can the DL be easily adjusted to your specific length?

Pics would help a lot. Age of the bow is the biggest question governing the cost of the "package".

Seems high to me unless it is much newer than I think. if it is like this you can see the price difference (this one is sold)

Seems quite over priced.

Yes, my initial reaction was that it was up there fairly high.

You can get a brand new package for less money, with just a bit of a search. Like this one from Cabela's Canada...

It would make a great "first" bow.

Or even this one...

I'm not new to archery but new to compound bows. I just purchased a Bowtech Sniper "package" for $900(ish) taxes in.
came with:
-bow
-sights
-rest
-quiver
-counter balance
-metal D-loop
-release
-wrist sling
-and all the rubber silencer do-dads.

I just had to buy arrows(but that was also part of the $900)
I had it sized and set up for me at the shop and have been very happy with it.

the Thunderbolt is at least a 5 year old bow

without knowing the specifics of the accesories its hard to tell ... ie: string tools???? Wax is less than 10 bucks for a fresh tube at CDN tire, Feild points are cheap ... like a buck/per cheap ...Cobra makes some good high end assesories ...they also make some real cheap low end stuff, Arm guards are not a selling feature ... Hard case ..is probally the most expensive additional Item on that list and I suspect if it was a high end one they would tell you what Brand it is ..ie: SKB etc.....

end of the day Bare bow a Thunderbolt isnt worth any more than 200 bucks for a Minty one ... I would find it hard to believe that everything else is worth 5 hundy combined ..... or it best come with a Buttload of good arrows

Depending on accesories ... 4ish would be reasonable for an RTS Thunderbolt (as it was not a High end PSE to begin with)

 Well Gunner. There you have it. Stay well away from that "deal". Get something brand new (for less money) and be happier in the long run.
