I'm looking at an older 24 ft. Almar river boat, with a small block Ford, and I'm looking to use it in the Swift River, and the Muskwa.
Will this boat be too big for these rivers?
Is the stock small block engine adequate for this size of boat?
Thanks, Jeff

Muskwa not problem depending on what time of the yr,swift river id have to say no way that rive can get very shallow as well as narrow in places ,also theres lots of dead fall in the swift

Okay, so what would be the ideal sized boat and motor for the Swift?

If i was buying a small river set up it would be welded alluminum gregor or the like 16 ft with the biggest outbourd jet it could take.A cheaper way to go and smaller more movable set up.If Your hunting party consists of just two it more than big enough as long as your not planing long trips, you can only haul so much fuel and you need room for your came on the way out
