I rented from Winn Rentals in Kelowna for awhile and then picked one up from The Tool Place on Springfield last spring - give them a call as they didn't have on in stock when I needed it but they brought it in within the week.

using a tir-for makes for some long pulls, they really only pull about 1 inch per stroke. You're better off getting a cable hoist, or a chain hoist used with a wire rope. But that depends on your application.

I also know a dealer for a company called HaBeggar(spelling). What load are you looking for..and how long of cable, swivel hooks?

What size do you want and for what application?
Have seen a few on ebay. They ARE expensive!

I always have a small one under the back seat of my truck. Just a 1.5 ton but with a snatch block it will pull me back on the road if I get stuck.

The good thing about a tirfor is that they allow you to pull forward, backward, or even sideways.
