I tried to load my quad on the truck with a deer strapped to the back. Eight foot ramps and my weight thrown over the front of the quad almost turned into a mess. The front tires came up off the ramp and the whole quad shifted so that the quad was barely on the ramps. Note to self, don't do that again.

Take extra care when things are frosty/snow covered also...those ramps get slippery and things can go sideways in a hurry!!!

Winch point in center of bed front wall and winch the quad up onto the truck very safe then. Same for removal.

If the deer was on the back rack you should have gone backwards onto the ramps onto the truck,,,,is your truck lifted

X3 using your winch! Bolt a eye dead center in the front floor of your box, winch the Quad up tight to a piece of plywood that you screwed to the bulk head, leave the cable attached and tight when you leave the truck and it's also dam near impossible to remove the Quad with out a key to use the winch or cut the cable! It makes loading and unloading a lot safer and the Quad is a lot harder to steal, unless the crackhead takes the whole truck!

tip - anchor ramps on truck before driving up ramp

Load your quad unloaded having a deer on the rack is like having a passenger back there, and of course non-2up models are designed for the rider only. Like mentioned strap your ramps to your truck or trailer.

Don't end up like this:

Had a buddy who's Quad came off the ramp flipping over. Broke his back.
good news is that he was not paralized but he did spend months in the hospital.

This is what I thought of and it works very well ,no planks will ever pull out from the tail gate the way this idea engineered :-D..

Sorry guys, no photo. For the record I was hunting with my son and he shot the deer.
I knew, after the fact, that it was a case of bad judgment but that's how it happens and all the woulda, shoulda, coulda can't undo what is already done Thought I would share so maybe someone else won't end up in a bad way.

personally i always load my animals on the front of my quad before i attempt loading,if the animal is to big then i load the quad first then put the animal onto a tarp on the tailgate and tie it all down good and tight.
