Well this up and down as to when I am supposed to be going to work. I would really like to fill one of my 2 tags although it looks that I am just donating to BCWF for my first year. contemplating going to 3-12 on Wednesday possibly around elkhart rd is this worth the trip or should I rethink something else

Yep...... Look for the does and there should be a buck or two not too far behind.

I see a lot of does up around 1400m in Bear creek but have yet to see a buck up there everywhere else I have seen nothing.
Granted this is my first year and I have a lot to learn still but it seems from people I have talked to in person I have got mixed answers.
Some say they are all down low, below 1000m others tell me they only move early morning late evening. and others yet say the best time is between 11am and 2pm

If you're seeing does you shouldbe into bucks. Find some good timber hike through it slowly (really slowly) and you'll find yourself a buck or sit and glass. This time of year the best time to be hunting is any time of day.

The old snow at 1500 m. had some melt and rain and is froze hard now, -7 this a.m.
Noisy crap ! Makes still hunting very hard, but it can be done. What took 4 hrs to hunt Friday took 8 hrs today.
Does and dinks only though. Lots of fresh sign

1 day left, and its the least amount of buck action I can ever remember, lots of does little bucks or none at all.
Deer are very spread out, no sign of any migration at all IMO.

Guess we'll be dusting off the bow's!

I'm taking one more crack at in in the morning - but with the lack of snow, I'm not expecting much. The weather has to change soon. Hopefully it's going to be a bow season to remember!

Have faith !!!
The deer are still where they always are, just a different scene.
If it doesn't turn to winter, they will stil be there in two weeks too !
I'll buy rounds at The Ramshorn if things work out tomorrow
