There are a few videos where the bear runs up the tree above the shooter. I would do just what the guy did. And then jumped out of the stand with only a sword.

That guy did the right thing. didn't freak the bear out, just let him know that he was there.

I think he did the right thing although I think I would have spoke up as soon as I knew the bear was intent on climbing up. Last week I walked onto a bear in an open field while I was walking along a trail hunting deer. Basically let him know I was there but he still didn't move away until I raised my rifle at him. Guess he figured he'd go to sleep soon on his own terms.

I was happy to see that bear go down the ladder and walk away. The look on that bear's face when he spoke to it was priceless. Somehow I couldn't have shot that bear. Ha! Ha!

This bear was not aware that the person was in the tree stand.

If you did not want this bear to come this close the person should have yelled at this bear or did something ells to let this bear know that you where there..

You either don't spend much time in the bush and/or are afraid of bears.

I've had several encounter similar to this. I did the same as this guy and the bear always F@#&ed off.
