Sorry, I found the rattling threads after searching. Anyone tried the fawn distress call with or without success? The freezer is still empty and time is running out on me. Thanks.

I always found the fawn call stops working(at least working effectively) the end of October. Then I switch to a doe bleat, seems that way in my area anyway.

The Primos can calls work great to get does to come in. I have called a doe within 10 yards of me with it.

I've heard that the effectiveness of a fawn bleat wears off towards the fall. I do know they're great for calling in black bears in the spring!

I had a mulie doe charge right in on me this fall when I blew a predator call. I couldnt believe it. I used the Les Johnson Ruffy Dog, and this doe came on the run accross a field from about 200 yds away and came in to about 20 feet before she realized she had been fooled.

I bought a new doe bleet and a Montana decoy and had one within 25 yards tonight. It was funny to watch the doe creeping in and almost pacing back & forth attempting to get a better look at the decoy..

I wondered about using fawn calls, but I had never heard a fawn in distress call untill last night, a fawn stood in the middle of the road by my house and went nuts for 5min non stop then she walked away. I could hear her calling all the way at the other end of the street. Mabey next year I will get out more before the rut and try calling.

Tried rattling with an old sock and 5 pieces of broom stick; had one very curious cow moose. Fawn distress call didn't even stop the coyote that I scared while walking. I think I'll try to get over into 7-15 tomorrow.
