The old trailer packed her in last season , so went out and bought a new Nash 19B . Built a frame off the side and got hold of Northwest shelters to come over and measure it up and build me a tent. They made up the tent and skirting and did an excellent job. Tried it out this october and things worked out great even got a moose or two and a few deer. Here's a few pics of the set-up. Russ

What a great idea... Awesome camp you got there and I bet you were "toasty" warm the whole time. Nice to see you also got the "Red Carpet" treatment. Good job on a successful hunt too... :-D

Nice set up. Did the trailer get smokey inside or was it good. ??? I was just wondering.

Now that is a great set up!! Mind telling us how you secured the tent frame to the trailer? How many feet from the trailer to the outside tent wall? And it looks like you skirted the entire trailer too eh? Impressed all to hell!

Here's a pic showing how it attaches to the trailer, the leading edge of the tent has a sleave sewn in it and you slide a pole through then slide the end lifting poles on and slide the tent over the top edge of the aluminum angle molding mounted on the trailer. There's brackets mounted on the bottom of the trailer that the lifting arms lock into and the trailer side of the tent velcro's around the lifting poles.

WOWZERS ! Great job !!!

I have 3 questions..lol I know only 1 question to a customer..

1) roughly what was the cost ?

2) ya , did it get smokey in the trailer??or did ya wait to open the door untill much later when it was less smokey?? hmmmm????

3) what about Mice?? or other rodents...seems they would have a much chance of getting into the trailer with that door being open continuously..ie all night..

cheers

The stove doesn't get the tent smokie inside even had a few days of super high winds with trees coming down all over the place and the tent remained pretty much smoke free. As far as rodents I took mouse traps along and they didn't last long enough in the tent to make it into the trailer.

I like it.
Nothing better than a good camp/camp area.
On long trips I have no issues spending the better part of a day getting wood and setting up properly the first time.

Any story to accompany the moose and deer ?

The camp set up looks real nice Russell. Have you given any thought as to what you'll do when the snow starts to fall and build up on the canvas? You might need some extra poles for mid structure support.

I bet that stove heats her up real nice.

With that stove going I don't think snow would ever have a chance to accumlate. You are being a little tight liped about the dollar figure tho;) Cool set-up tho. What region were you in?

very nice!I sure like the extra room of having a tent-and the woodstove to keep warm.I assume from the look of it the frame is aluminum.

We were in region 7 and the cost for the tent and skirting was $1200, Also if you stoke the stove up when it gets to snowing it melts off pretty quick.

Yep insulated tanks etc, also had the solar panel put on it. Got just about three weeks out of the battery. Closed the trailer door every night and turned the furnace on low just to test it out. Also used the shower , surprised the battery went so long considering it was so cloudy lots of days that the battery wasn't getting any charge.

Great looking setup, you get the best of both worlds with that unit. Nice looking stove too, does it pretty well keep the trailer warm too?

Nice set up!!....we do something quite similar in that we use a 16' cargo trailer (inside a set of bunks and small table with coffee maker, toaster and hot plate for AM breaky. We hang a wall tent with stove off the back of the trailer. Sleeps 6 very comfortably.....card table set up in the middle of the addition. Mice etc. ...we set traps around the unit perimeter. Any help with pics would be appreciated.:)

X2 on these guys..just got a wall tent from them. Really happy with it.
Built to our specs, and no issues with it being done on time.

I am sold sketching out my design now think I want to remount the battery box on the front and put the storage box up front so the tent can wrap around and possibly accomodate the outdoor shower so I can put a fish cleaning station but otherwise somewhat the same setup. Nice to have almost identicle trailer to go off of since I have the Arctic Fox 19B
