Your trophy photo - how to...

Lots of great photos of everyone with their trophies. a long time ago I learned a few tips from a Taxidermist friend of mine that really make those photos presentable to our friends that a bit squeemish.

1. Try and clean up any blood, use a pine bow to hide it if needed.
2. Put tongue back in mouth
3. Hold the head up proud from the back so as to hold the ears up alert.
4. Oh, and include your method of harvesting. Gun, Bow, Slingshot etc..

Add more tips if you have any.

Cut the tongue off and prop the animal up with its legs under it so it looks like it's sitting naturally.

I'm kind of partial to this picture I took of my 11 year old daughter posing with a nice "blueberry jam" bear we took in September. I'm planning to post the story eventually.

BTW, .308 - great pics and nice animals too! I'm more of a fan of field shots than backyard ones. My camera resides in my day pack from September through December for just that reason. Inevitably there will be a day where I forget it, or the batteries die, or whatever. There's no doubt a backyard pick will still be better than no pic at all.

An excellent photo, I like how you employed the small stick to prop up the muzzle. Congrats to you daughter on a fine harvest.

308win, Also a fine shot of you and your daughter, I like the effort in propping the legs underneath as in the natural laying down pose. Glad to see your daughter is ok with holding the deer's face to the camera. Some nice trophy's!!
