When the rains came in late Sept to the Omineca, some guys did not get back in time.

This is a picture of the Mcgregor river- approx km 30 on the walker road. Seems a few riverboaters headed upriver and then the rains came- must have been a bit of a shock when they returned. Apparently made totally new channels in river. Can't imagine the mess those vehicles were in.:icon_frow

Kind of sad to see this...........

If it's the one I heard about, they at least came back with a moose.........a very expensive moose!! :eek: One of the guys works with my wife

Wow, you would think since they were on the river themselves, they would of noticed the river rising quickly????
Looks like the top bunk is still dry!

Guess when the guys returned......they were all in the same boat! :grin:

i think the water can come up pretty fast, so unless they were constantly on the water it could be easy to miss. I know someone who lost their truck on Vancouver Island when the water came up 8 feet in a hurry with record rainfall. I feel for those guys!

Heard that several were wet at a landing on the Liard, not that badly.

Poor buggers. That is some of the worst country around for rain. Won't hurt my feelings if I never see it again.
