been on this site alot, havnt really posted anything but now i have a story to post about my hunting success.
it all started out on friday (29th) me and my hunting buddy got recently invited out to come hunt with a group of hunters and camp out. (wich we are newbie hunters so we are pretty stoked on the invatation.)
on our way out to the spot we see a guy all alone on the side of the road tryin to load up his deer, so we do our good deed for the day and give him a hand and off we are again. as we are getting close to our destination we see a whitetail doe so we try and chase her but no luck. after seeing that it gave us high hopes on this area.
next morning wake up bright and erlie head out to where we were told to go and we didnt find cause of the dark and lack of knowing the area. so we just diceded to do some driving. as we check a nice lookin cut its already light we glass around and come across a cow and calf moose we watched for a minute or two then to relize thiers a bull 120 yards away and hes got only 1 straite spike coming out of him on one side. i had a moose tag so we contiplated if its legal or not for about 10minutes as we watched. finally they all took off into a neighboring cut so me and my buddy tracked them for a little while untill they finally disappeared.

so we drive around for awile longer and come to a dead end road then on our way back my buddy yells yea got u a buck! so i scramble to grab bullets for my 30-30 so i say screw it and grab my friends 7mm mag and i jump out of the truck and look into the thick side hill above me and there he is chasing a doe, so i look and the doe sees me but the 3x3 buck could care less that i am there. so she starts to run paralell to the trail im on and he fallows a good 10-15 feet behind her. i run aways ahead of them knowing they are stayin paralell to me. so i stand waitin in a spot were it opens up just a enough from the thick forest and wait.
the doe runs past so i line up and wait the second or two then the buck jumps through and bam i shot. i watched him winse so i know i got him good! not a sharp shooting distance at only around 70-80 yards but i got lucky that day and am happy from the size of my deer and the experiance.

came up and found him here

Congrads on your deer, but I have to ask....why didnt you shoot the moose???
If all you see is a spike, thats a pretty easy no brainer that its legal!

Nice buck! And you got him on a running shot. Whether or not he cared about your presence you still had to do it right to get him.

Good Job KurtDurt. Nice Buck. Great story.
Tips on good photos, Wipe or hide the blood, stick tongues back in and grab head at the base of the skull so the ears prop up as if alive. What exciting times, now you're certainly gonna be hooked!

thanks alot!
the deer was shot in around 8-1ish
and we didnt want to push our luck on what is legal, the spike on the moose was quite small, i coudlnt be more happy with the outcome regardless.
as long as there is bone and not more then 2 points pull the trigger anyways congrats
