My weapon of choice is a Shimano Canadian Custom Mooching Rod with a Daiwa Millionaire 6hm reel. First time bringing in a coho!! Going to be some good eats!:-D

Used a barbless hook with wool on it seemed to do the trick.

i have to admit that is a nice haul where about did ya catch them not asking for the spot just what river
up on the island those would have actually been thrown back in to go spawn dont get me wrong not knocking your catch
i took 16 Coho home this year from my river all silver with sea lice on them largest being 20lbs smallest around 8
and i loved every second of it from the first strike to the jumping and spinning out of the water trying to hold on to them till i landed them on the ground we was at
We used barbless hooks all the way found if your hooks stayed sharp they stuck in the fish better we also used 7 foot trout rods
again not knocking them cause you did good

Caught them on the vedder. They were my first cohos ever caught just getting into the fishing. Will get out earlier next year for the silver ones.

then that was a most amazing job for the first time good on ya
the silvers are way more fun and you need to be ontop of your game to play with them and make sure your hooks are lazer sharp
Blue wool makes Coho nail hooks hard if you ever head up to the island come visit the Puntl;edge river in Oct youll love the fishing i know i do :)
