Looks as though it'll be yet another year before another attempt is made - I took off for a week but all I could draw on was this guys twin brother, sooooo, I let 'em walk.

Thought that with my down time, i'd be good to get this guy done up RIGHT!
Its overdue.

Thanks! This Dude came in at (either) just over, or slighty under 170 gross. I don't remember the exact number but have NO problem remembering the ball banging hunt he lead me on!

I've been trying for a few years to better him but it hasn't come around yet - In time, it will.

Yeah, but not so for me. I was REALLY hoping to bust lose for another week (NOW) but alas, I'm still at home and next week isn't looking good either.... And I don't hunt the rutt.

Nope. I'm serious.... I even found him again the very next day. The guy I wanted WAS in there but things didn't work out. And in Reg 3 once you cut a tag, that's it, shows over. Ain't NO coming back for another whack at Big Brother.

Frustrating, isn't it?
No worries. Got me a plenty of KD in the cupboard. :mrgreen:

170'' is a great mule deer! Years ago I shot my first mule deer scoring 164'' net. I got the cape tanned and put it in the freezer thinking I'd get a bigger one soon. 5 years latter I got it mounted. I still haven't shot a bigger one despite hunting for one most years. I've let a lot of good ones walk away and usually bring my tag home.

I'm learning what it's like to let them walk on..... HOPING that I'll relocate them a couple years down the trail .
It's not like I'm starving - I get my fill eating tags. :mrgreen:

It's the 'game' that drives me and I absolutely LOVE, The Hunt.
And I can't hardly wait for the next one, knowing full well that I *could* be coming home empty-handed, AGAIN!

180 or bust....... That's all there is to it. :evil:
