went out on thursday night. walked into a cut friday morning, heard somethin behind us so focused on it... kept hearing it (probably a deer) dad turns around, bull moose standin on the road. 1 shot from the .270 at 125 yards dropped him and 1 in the head. first bull. enjoy. small drop tine on its right side.

heres a picture to show how massive bodied this bull was..
although i'm not very big (like 150 lbs) this moose was huge!

Nice bull. When I had my region 8 leh for any bull. I couldn't even find a track. I seen a few cow moose earlier in the off season.

we saw 1 immature bull 2 weeks before , tried callin him in, he started grunting and coming towards us... then turned around and went the other way. then this bull. no other moose. a few mulie does. and a few whitetail does that gave us the slip

Great bull! I was lucky to see it first hand..
My girlfriend's 8 year old son and I stopped to see if you wanted help, then continued on our hike looking for a mulie. When we came back from our hike around the slash, you were already driving out. I appreciated the fact that you guys also said you would help us if we got something in there - very classy!
It was the big highlight of our day for Colin to see you with your moose. Unfortunately, all we saw was "sign" in that area - although we passed up a bear lower down on our way home.
I wish I had stayed to watch as I didn't even clue into the fact you guys were using the gutless method. I would have liked to see that.
Congrats again on a very nice Okanagan moose!

that sucks you guys didnt see anything! a few whitetail does gave us the slip, never saw much of anything else. although we decided to cut our trip a day short because of the weather!

You don't realize how big a moose really is until you walk up to it after your shot, and it gets bigger and bigger with each step you take towards it!!! Congrats on one real big bull!!!

Congrats and i love to hear that it was with a .270 i also shot one last year with mine and constantly get my chops busted by a friend whom tells me its too light :)

firstly Grizguy A huge congrats on your first bull .With that being said rumor has it you may still have one leh left??( birdie told me this ) So as far as I can see you really should be banned from hunting the rest of the season!!!! :) I am thinking that hairy old man of yours should be buying another freezer :) .OH the picture of you two is awesome ,maybe tell him to get a hair cut for the next pic !!!

haha yep greg must of told you.. cow elk leh in jan... bosses from work moved into a new house and didnt want the freezer that was in it, so we snatched it.. and i know, grizzly adams really needs a haircut. lmao
ps.. gotta show me n dad the secret spot so i can get a big mulie this year ; ) ; )

Nice moose. Congrats! Hoping to pull another immy out this year....it's been a few years since i had a freezer full of moose
