K Spent last week up in around the Marble range for deer, I was a little dissapointed. Last summer while fishing at big bar deer seemed abundant . This trip we saw mabee 5 does thats it.Other critters were two moose and a BIG frikin cougar on a deer kill. There was actually alot of cougar sign everywhere .Talked to one fellow who was just coming down from 2 nites in the alpine and all he saw was a 3 pt buck,a bull moose and a bear.where the heck do they hide? are they migrated to the Fraser already this early? thats a 30-06 shell for scale in the kitty track

Nope wont be at the fraser yet! I find Oct to be the hardest time to find big bucks! Not in the alpine or the winter range.....so they are in the 4000-5000' elevation nasty bush...good luck with that!

almost looks like dog track.

x2 Looks like wolf to me. Seems to be toenail marks and the pad orientation looks canine not Kitty cat.

I think the bucks are in the thick stuff right now as well, popin out every now and then to check the does. Put away the long range gun, grab the guide gun and dive in, quietly of course. I figure dog track too, good eye peashooter.

here is another pic of the area, most of the tracks in the sand were made by this critter, mabee it was a wolf, I am no expert. I am sure it wasnt a domestic dog though, too far back out of the way.a couple more scenery pics
