Well somehow my alarm never went off when it should have but I woke up at 7:00am (was supposed to be gone by 6:00am. Out the door and on my way to my area by 7:30am. I hiked to my spot by the river, sat in the bushes off the game trail and waited...On my way down it I was fresh Elk and deer tracks, of course probably 2 hours old at the most.

So after sitting and searching for a few hours I switch areas, head to a field, spooked some does on my way in, sat in a treestand for an hour and a half just to see what shows up, not to much, took a walk around, its a good field, fresh droppings everywhere.

Well the day started to really warm up and nothing was moving, were supposed to get snow tomorrow so it will be an early morning again. I did a ton of hiking today and scouted somemore new areas with lots of sign. I'm still going to stay at my spot by the river, I know the elk are there, just haven't seen them yet.

I did find this track while walking a deactivated road

Next summer i think i'll bring the wife over that side of BC/Alta
we do a fishing trip every summer. 14 days of the fly! Bought her a 4# z-axis for her birthday. You should see when we meet people on the Cowichan, They stop and watch her for a while give me a funny look and say " she's good!"

Your river pics are making me wanna go!

Its great fishing here if you hit the right lakes/rivers. Fishing in Jasper is pretty cool, some big bulls there. We have some lakes with lake trout and browns to.
