Very cool Blacktail (pics)

Hi all, stopped by HUb sports here in Abbotsford the other day to BS with one of the fellas who works there. I wanted to stop in and tell him about the three point Muley I tagged a couple of weeks back. As I share my story he pulls out his i-phone and shows me the following pics of his Blacktail......insert Jawdrop here....


Just had to share these with you folks, so with John's kind permission I present the following. This Buck was arrowed right here in the Lower Mainland and has got to be one of the most unique, and interesting Bucks I've ever seen. The circumference around thoes bases is bigger that the spike i shot last year is long!

Yes I too was subjected to Johns rant and story. I got to see them in person and its kinda hard to grasp the size of this pig. 20 minutes from home he said... the bases unbelievable as it sounds 8" on one side and 9 1/4" on the other. The one photo that wasn't shown was the hole in the heart from the broadhead. Great story great buck.

Wow!!! beauty blacktail for sure, and taken with the bow no less. Fire up the slow-cooker. Yeah John's a great guy, he hooked me up with a sweet shooting .22 and some sub-sonic loads...the grouse have been falling with regularity since.:wink:

I held these antlers at hub and it's even more impressive than pictures. When putting my middle finger and thumb around the bases they were still a good 3 inches from touching. I love blacktails. I can talk hunting all day long and got the full story from the rightfully proud hunter. Congrats to him.

John here, I was joking on the last thread about doing it again, . . . but I did,. . . I think I got another buck with related genetics, nastier and gnarlier, believe it or not. Took him Wednesday Oct. 27, late evening. If a scoring point is 1 inch, he has at least 14 scoring points, he is home now, and if my camera will download, I will share as soon as possible. . . . No. . . I will let Kishman do it, he started it! Thanx again guys!
