Is this from this year or a previous year? I know of the record Muzzleloader being taken from there a year or two ago on the Minister's Permit.

So as a newb to hunting I'm gonna ask...

Besides proper etiquette, what is the reason you cannot post your pics?

Because where I come from ... No pics ..... IT NEVER HAPPENED!!!!

;) J/K - but would relly like to see pics!

Excuse my ignorance but what "ministry" are you refering to? and if you have pictures of this elk,and you don't have permission from the hunter to post them, then you have more info on this elk than anyone else, right? ,the score, location etc,...so why are you asking us if we know anything about it?

It's not from powell river. It was shot on the island.

Well, for starters the hunter might not want his picture on the net,and the pictures are not mine to post.I just thought if someone else had them,it's just not my call right now.

Its from the island. Its real. It happened. I too have seen the pics and am familiar with the story. The hunter is proudly modest and doesnt want it swirling around the net stirring up various fictional tales of woe. I respect that and congradulate him on his hard earned trophy. I hope the rest of us do too and refrain from living through him and posting his pics if he doesnt want them posted.

My guess is we will all see it in a hunting magazine, Big Buck or something. Cant make any money on the pictures if we get them free off HBC ! Good for him on his elk.

Maybe someone can sweet talk him into one picture for the gang to view,as this elk is a monster and really should be shared with the hunting community.

I have the pictures sitting in my e-mail this morning. Wow!

They came to me through my Dad who had them sent to him by Jack Reneau @ B&C.

I don't wanna be "that guy" if he truly doesn't want them up....and for the life of me I don't know how to blot out faces on people OR elk.

If they have gone viral via e-mail.....kinda makes ya wonder the issue with "posting" them vs e-mailing them. If they are being e-mailed out of the B&C head office one would think that they're gonna get some 'circulation'.

I agree. I can't believe how paranoid folks are about this stuff...if you REALLY don't want it out there for some reason, you better not e-mail it to ANYONE.

This one is already on Trophy Watch for chrissakes, with the hunter's full name!...

http://www.boone-crockett.org/news/trophyWatch.asp?area=news#watch27EC765E-9FD2-45DF-828D-6BDF5FD7A52E

If you have more pics, I don't see how there could be any harm in posting them.

Lots of record book stuff has gone viral in the recent past, and still winds up with full magazine coverage later.

Ha ha........well for those that want to see "one" of the pics....there ya go! I hadn't looked on TrophyWatch in a while but given that the pics came e-mailed to me, second hand from B&C it makes sense that it would be on there.

Well that picture and name squashed a couple things I heard.
Heard the outfitter (ex) himself finally drew the tag after 30 years, heard it had an extra brow tine and I heard he was after it for 17 days before finally getting it (and somebody else said he wounded it one day and finally killed it a day or two later)

Good thing I believe half of what I hear and most of what I see.

Rosies get a tine formation that looks like a kings crown on the top end.

I think the living elk on post #36 is "it". I wasn't going to post the one with the arrow or the trophy pose after.
