Really want to head down south for a pheasant hunt, hoping someone has been on a trip and can steer me in the right direction.

I would recommend Montana for the Block management program they have. All of the land permission is done for you .I just got back yesterday with my limit.

Just got back from Alberta. My brother, his friend and I hunted HARD for five days with five dogs. We got our limit on the first day but only got one more imature pheasant the entire time. We hunted from almost to the border to well north of Brooks, several off-limits properties and even got onto a ranch that nobody has ever been alowed into before. The rumors of a massive die-off appear to be true. In previous years we ALWAYS got our limits even when other hunters were not even seeing any. We saw far too few partridge as well. The locals have never seen it this bad before, even the farmers are not seeing the birds they usually do.

Hunted south of Raymond opening day, birds where few and far between, we did manage to put up 2 mature birds and a couple of imature ones, but not the number we where used to seeing for sure.

Where told by the CO's that the release programn was still on, but something drastic needs to be done out there before it gets even worse.

And as said above, very few Huns as well.
